Things to Do with Kids on Halloween

Kids love Halloween. And it’s even more fun when parents get involved because then you can help them make costumes, take them trick or treating, and stuff your faces with candy. If you have been wondering what you can do with your kiddos this Halloween, you have come to the right place. Here are some unique ideas for things to do with kids on Halloween:

  • Make Printable Halloween Masks

This is a great idea that will have you getting hands-on and creative with your little ones. There are a lot of printable Halloween mask designs that you can download and print out from the internet. Alternatively, you can also choose to get even more down and dirty with it by tracing out a design on a cardboard and cutting it out. Be sure to include eye holes and attach a straw to it to act as the handle.

  • Cook Fun Halloween Foods

Another great idea is to herd all the kids to the kitchen and have them help you make a few simple Halloween appetizers. For example, you can make simple pumpkin-shaped quesadillas.

  • Create a Haunted House

You can also turn your home into a haunted house. This is pretty easy to do. Just buy a bunch of Halloween decorations and turn your Halloween decorating into a family affair. Help the little ones hang wreaths or string lights and together you will turn your home into a gloriously haunting abode!

  • Let The Kids Design their Own Costumes

Store-bought costumes are great. However, you can take things to a whole other level when you let the kids figure pout what they want to be all on their own. Turn it into a challenge by having them design their own costumes. They can even find items around the home that can become parts of their costumes, which is a great idea if you want to spruce out an already existing store-bought costume.

  • Swap Scary Stories

Another great idea is to have everyone tell scary stories. You can even make one up on the fly or pull one out from your childhood. When in doubt, you can always turn to the internet for tried and tested kid-friendly Halloween stories.

  • Do a Scavenger Hunt

You can also create a Halloween scavenger hunt. Give your kids a list of Halloween-themed items and send them on a hunt. You can even hide some of these things around yourself and give them clues to turn it into a fun-filled Halloween treasure hunt.

  • Play Wrap the Mummy

For this idea, you will need one or more rolls of toilet paper. One kid will be the mummy and the others will wrap them up in toilet paper. You can even turn it into a competition where you judge them by how fast tnhey did it or how covered up the mummy is.

  • Throw a Costume Fashion Show

This is a simple yet super fun idea. To do it, let your kids wear their costumes and set up a Halloween fashion show in the living room or in your yard. Let everyone show off their costumes and be sure to take lots of pictures!
